This monograph was published in the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society (1882, NS. vol XIV, pp. 377-732) by Archibald Sayce, the renowned Assyriologist and linguist (1846-1933). Sayce was the first to decipher the language of the Van inscriptions, now called Urartian, and which he termed Vannic. This article includes: 1. Geography of the inscriptions; 2.
