Bar Hebraeus' Chronography, translated from Syriac by E. A. Wallis Budge (London, 1932) is available on another page of this site and may be downloaded there. Bar Hebraeus (also Gregory Abu'l Faraj) was a prominent Syrian Orthodox cleric of the 13th century and author of works on numerous subjects. His Chronography, based on sources extant and lost, is a treasure for historians and anthropologists among others. Beginning with the Creation, it extends to the author's death in 1286 and was continued an additional ten years by his brother. An invaluable source by a reliable and erudite individual.
